I personally think the front office is going to stand their ground on his contract re-do. I would have guessed Kam would be the last player on this team to pull this chit. I think he will be there for the first game of the season. I really think he's getting bad advice from his douche agent. Trade him to another division for a #1 and a #3 pick in next years draft. Any thoughts on what happens?

What a BUM. It could be that he knows his hip wont take the test of time and wants some more guaranteed money.

He has a contract. He should honor it to the extent he expects them to honor their end.

I have read that his concern is with the non-guaranteed money. He probably needs to be plotting a future.

What to do? Schedule him to play. If he shows and plays well, then keep on keeping on. If he doesn't show, send him packing. Football is entertainment for us and a business for the NFL.

Just another selfish athlete that does not keep his word. I hope they demote is arse as Captain. Normally I wouldn't be tripping, but this guy is arguably the Best Strong Safety to play the game. Even Ronnie Lott says he's the best he's seen. crazy

Bam,Bam,Kam will be there for the first regular season game. I'm wondering about his hip & knee though. Just cause he shows up doesn't really mean Petey will play him. Good luck,

It's funny how they forget what true work is; and the pay that comes a long with it.

Wash your vag out.

He'll start the first game that matters, and he'll be knocking the fu,ck out of people.

He's making a point - and the point is he's the best at his position in the game.

He'll get his payday when his contract comes due, because he deserves it.

If I was the #Seahawks, I'd take Kam's check... and hand it to Michael Bennett. Reward players who are unhappy but still show up. #precedent

LOL @ Kam.

Other execs have also been impressed by the play of Dion Bailey ("John has no reason to budge -- that Bailey kid is good, man," one personnel guru told me) and the Seahawks dded great depth by picking up Kelcie McCray from the Chiefs in trade Saturday. Don't get me wrong, the Seahawks know Chancellor's worth to their team, but they are fortifying themselves should this be the rare case of a holdout that actually spreads into the season. Seahawks brass has told other front offices that they won't forgo the $30,000 a day in fines Chancellor incurred -- I tend to believe they would quickly if he showed back up -- and they seem pretty entrenched on seeing how many paychecks, if any, Chancellor is willing to sacrifice.

The Seahawks have been singing Bailey's praises all throughout preseason, but it's easy to take that with a grain of salt. This was the first I've seen about what anyone else in the league thinks about Dion Bailey's play. Glad to see other teams are also giving him rave reviews.

He wont make or break this team, now if we lost Earl that would be a different story. You have to remember our front seven is even better than last year. The way Kam plays his body is already starting to break down. Maybe he cant beat a piss test and is buying time?

Either way Kam can GFY...selfish POS. Trade him to a [Bleeeeep!] team that has 7 million in cap space for a 5th or 6th rounder.

To me this means possibly one of two things. Or both. One, he's not managed his money well and/or two, he doesn't think he can play at this level for much longer. If those two things are reality to him then I understand his position. Nothing else makes any sense to me.

I'd say Kam's getting bad advice from a bad agent.

He's going to lose $250K a week over moving $400K from 2017 to 2016?

And why on earth would the Seahawks move 2017 money to 2016 so he's only making $3 million in 2017?? He may as well just hold out now for 2017.

It just doesn't make any sense huh

I'm with SZ. Bailey won't fall down in coverage every week, and the D will shore up. Hate to see Kam go (and would still love to have him back), but his actions of late make it plain as day where his loyalties lie, and that is not with his team. I doubt too many guys in that locker room were saying nice things about him in the aftermath of Sunday's game.

If they can't work it out, I say they should give Irvin and Bennett a little of Kam's vacated salary; they were pains in the arse in the offseason, but they showed up to work on schedule and ready to play. Seems to me that would set a positive example for other up and coming players that might find themselves considering holdouts in the future.

Knowing Kam, he was probably laughing his arse off when Bailey fell down on that play. He probably thought his phone would ring shortly after the game. He's now never going to get back 2 million dollars for sitting out. What a dip sheet. I liked how Ray Lewis ripped him on ESPN. thumbs

Yes, this.

I think Kam either 100% knuckles under, maybe the Hawks forgive the training camp fines (but NOT the game checks), and Kam can be back for Week 3...or Kam is done. He's not going to get schit, I don't think his teammates support him in this or you'd hear it from them.

Were we supposed to clamor for the Hawks to do anything and everything to get him back when we saw Bailey fall down on the game-losing TD? If so...wrong answer. Just made my middle finger for Kam stand up a little higher.

We grossly overpaid him when he got this contract, and he has proven us right in doing so...that's a pretty fair trade right there.

Do your fuckin job, or hit the fuckin road.

Fish on...

Todd

This whole thing is just plain weird. Seems to me Kam is willing to take a temporary PR hit to put himself in position to get a bigger contract next time around (after 2016). The way they're trying to move money to next year makes it seem like they're trying to establish a higher baseline for the projected negotiating year. Pretty crappy thing to do to his teammates, but selfishness is standard with all these guys, so it shouldn't surprise us.

Agree. Dirty piss test? Cant pass his physical? Something up. This team does not need this distraction. Trade him to Cleveland.
