Olsen's play is going to depend on where Chancellor is mentally and physically. Olsen should be all we have to fear out of their offense. Their best receiver is Ted freakin Ginn? Wtf? Prior to this year's game Newton hasn't done hit against us.

Carolina’s season and home field win streak is on the line this weekend playing against the 2X defending conference champion Seahawks. Seattle has won 4 out of the past 5 hard fought games, with Seattle uncharacteristically giving a good size lead away in last minutes of the last game.

Seattle’s post-season record is 7-2 since Wilson has been QB and looking for him to be back in championship form.

The defense are league leaders again for the fourth straight year for least points allowed and looking like the 2013 Seahawk defense in stuffing the run.

The way Seattle’s offense, defense, and special teams are playing the last half of the season, Seattle ended Carolina’s post season last year and could very well do it again this year.

Great stuff from Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle on the history of the strained relationship between Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks:

You heard of the bird? Well, Lynch flashed it toward the Seattle bench while lining up in the backfield during the middle of the game, leaving us all to sort through just how much ill will was behind the gesture.

Here are the particulars: Thursday night game in Arizona, Seattle has third-and-goal at the Arizona 1, the Seahawks leading 17-13. The Seahawks offense broke the huddle, and before getting set, Lynch turned and flashed a middle finger toward Seattle's sideline.

It was a pass play, and Lynch even wound up throwing a great block on a play that resulted in a touchdown to tight end Kellen Davis.

It's a play that has come to typify Lynch's last two seasons here in Seattle. A player whose effort can't be questioned based on what you see between the whistles, but whose attitude toward his employer can appear outright hostile.

One of the differences between Seattle and Carolina is the strength of schedule. Out of the 32 teams in the league, Carolina had the 6th easiest schedule compared to Seattle’s 4th hardest schedule.

Regardless of strength of schedule, you still have to go out and win. Carolina did leading to the No. 1 seed and after Carolina’s bye week made a come from behind win in the fourth quarter to beat Seattle at home…

Carolina played teams that had a collective 113- 143 record, Seattle 133-123 record.

Last week the pretenders like Houston having the 3rd easiest strength of schedule and Redskins 12th easiest schedule might have had home field advantage because of ease of schedule but it didn’t translate into the win column against teams that played harder schedules while ending up with worse W-L records.

If both teams live up to potential of how the teams are playing as of late, this should be a great game with an edge going to on the road Seattle’s defense giving up the least amount of points against Carolina scoring the most points. Seattle has been taking the run game away and Newton is going to have to prove that he is the league’s MVP to win this game. Newton came back from a poor showing of the first 3 quarters and caught fire in the fourth quarter to beat Seattle earlier in the year. A game plan they shouldn’t rely on this time around, if they plan on being successful.

Seattle is the reigning Conference Champions of the past two years and will continue to be conference champions until a team stands up and beats Seattle in their domain--- the play offs.

21-17 Hawks, hard fought battle, but in the end Russell will look more MVP-ish than Cam thanks to our defense really stifling them. Look for some defensive points, probably from both teams.

I hope Kam Chancellor steps up his game, his coverage has pretty much sucked all year, he's the reason we lost against Carolina the first time, and if it weren't for Earl Thomas he'd be the reason we might have lost last week, and a few other times, too. If Greg Olsen has a game against us like he did the first time it's going to be a tough day for the Hawks...and that's all up to Kam.

Fish on...

Todd

The o-line is a mess. Game isn't over but this could be the start of a long day.

Either way it ended, Russell Wilson was going to be the difference in the end (not Cam "Ride the Coattails of an Opportunistic Defense to Victory" Newton). Unfortunately, it was Russell's pick six that sealed their fate today, instead of the epic comeback it almost turned out to be. He was due for some hard luck this year, considering how many incredible breaks he's gotten early in his career. Next year will be interesting. This one will leave them hungry, for sure....

Hawks hung tough in the 2nd half. Still a very good season. Hopefully the cardinals can take the panthers down!
