I have John Havlicek's autograph. The Celtics were playing the sonics, my dad was a college coach and we got to wait near the locker rooms after the game. Got his, Lenny Wilkins, Tom Heinsohn, and Don Nelson that night...I was about 13.

3 time Formula One World Champion Niki Lauda took his final checkered flag today.

This guy was tough as nails and freakishly fast.

Without him in it, his car just sat there, so I'm going to say it was the guy.

Amazing dude Lauda was and how quickly he recovered from the burns from that crash.
He could have taken his family's silver spoon but he did it his way.

We all know that technically speaking, in theory, hypothetically, the fastest ever would be Evotard. He just never got a chance is all....

Your eyes glazed over and you started walking around like a zombie afterwards. I recall you walking up to me, putting your face right up to mine, your eyes never focused, and you stumbled away. You took an hour or so nap in the house, got up, rallied, and was back at the party drinking warm goat milk when I left. Poor goat.

The Legend.

I can remember this like it was yesterday. I was in the cub scouts as well and me and my dad built a pinewood car. The day of the race I said Fvck in the classroom and some girl ratted on me. I got in trouble at school and with the cub master. Didn't get to race that night. frown
That was the end of scouts for me. Took up sports instead.

Stam do you remember the rain gutter regatta where you build the little pine boat with a sail and had to blow it down the gutter and race your buddies? Lol takes me back..

My grandfather and Bart were good, life long friends. When he passed, Bart sent the family a wonderful letter with old photos of them together and a huge flower arrangement. Mr. Starr was a class act.

A long, long time ago - like in the 50's, Bart borrowed my Gramps 30-30 model 1894 for deer hunting. He slipped and fell on some rocks and took a nice gouge of wood out of the fore end. I've long since been the owner of that 1894 and it's beauty mark caused by Mr. Starr. It's my absolute all time favorite gun and it's taken 3 generations of big game animals including my first deer and elk. It's easily my most prized family heirloom.

Starr was what being a QB was all about. Childhood friend was a distant relative and he and his Dad visited with Bart in Kezar after a game.
