Digging was excellent. I parked the rig and started walking down but couldn't keep up with Mrs.fp as she was on a mission. By the time I got to the water she already had my first 11. She finished my limit and got hers shortly thereafter. eyeFish have a follow-up soon. Glad we didn't worry about the East wind, huh, f4b and dotman? They were big and will be some fine chowder soon! Of course, fried razor dinner tomorrow night. fp

Went to town, WSP was getting some "writing practice" on a couple of speeders.
Lots of traffic, hope the clamming were good for all that were on the beaches.
East wind finally "went away".......forgot what its like to have 4 days with no rain.............yea!!!!!!!

11:10 p.m.----Wind chime on the East side of my house, still making noise......hope the East wind doesn't put the clams down deep???? Deep wasn't so much the problem as much as how VERTICAL the critters were laying today. Busted the first two clams with my typical 5-10 degree tilt of the tube.... sheered the top of the open side of the shells. I think the east wind must've been blowing their tops on a westward kilter. Adjusted for a decidedly more vertical trajectory and VOILA! Perfect cores and NO MORE busted clams.

Follow-up, INDEED! The undisputed UBER-bad-ass queen of clam digging representing Grays Harbor... a victorious Mrs. fp proudly poses with her other half. Ran into treefarmer and our ol' buddy Tanner out there gettin'er'dun.... Heavy limits for our crew along with the WMD's required to procure them.... A big THANKS to my hosts... 'preciate the ride today, Team fp! Once home, it was time to get busy with the dirty deed. Found two of these l'il hitch-hikers in my limit. Check out the jumbo mosser plucked outta the final glory hole fp pounded up for the good Doc! Now that's what you call toppin' off a limit in style! Gotta love spring clams.... so PHAT they're SQUARE! Team eyeFISH returns tomorrow with the Jr League and a MUCH bigger crew.... can't wait!

Saturday took longer to walk to the low tide than it took to dig a limit of nice size clams

The upcoming dig is scheduled on the following dates, beaches, and low tides: •May 6, Friday, 6:51 a.m.; -1.5 feet; Long Beach •May 7, Saturday, 7:39 a.m.; -2.0 feet; Long Beach •May 8, Sunday, 8:26 a.m.; -2.1 feet; Long Beach •May 9, Monday, 9:14 a.m.; -1.9 feet; Mocrocks •May 10, Tuesday, 10:03 a.m.; -1.5 feet; Mocrocks •May 11, Wednesday, 10:55 a.m.; -0.9 feet; Mocrocks •May 12, Thursday, 11:49 a.m.; -0.3 feet; Mocrocks
Ayres recommends that diggers arrive at the beaches an hour or two before low tide for best results. However, digging is not allowed on any beach after noon with the exception of Mocrocks on May 12, when digging will be allowed for an extra hour, until 1 p.m., due to the later low tide
