Nicely done SPD. Hope the guy gets the help he needs. Did they shoot him down? Him throwing pine cones is an escalation of force. They should have issued a federal warrant and shot him when he didn't comply.

Buy a bunch of mattresses from Salvation Army and spread them around the tree. Then hold a spud gun tournament with a $20 entry fee. Whoever knocks him out of the tree gets half of the pot and the homeless shelters get the other half.

I work with the Seattle police often. I want to give them credit. Tough job, good work.

They positioned 4 cops holding a blanket under the tree and brought him down with a tranquilizer dart.
Then they put a radio collar around his neck and released him in Shelton. Well hopefully they gave him a bath before the sedative wore off.

Meeting with your probation officer doesn't count as "work". 😉 Sitting around waiting for the guy in the tree is not a "tough" job. But SPD did a good job of not shooting anyone or losing any firearms during the event.

As far as I can tell there wasn't really any reason for the cops or firemen to be there at all. Some dumfuck wants to sit up in a tree, who the hell cares? Going to hurt someone with fuckin pinecone? Unlikely.
Just leave him up in the damn tree. When it's time to come down, he'll come down.
Or not. Who the fukk cares?
Big deal.

The police had to be there for a couple of reasons....traffic had to be altered and controlled. The bus in that area that runs off the cables had to be disconnected and towed. Crowds gathered. He damaged the tree....a crime. Seattle is bringing in an arborist to see the extent of the damage. That all being said, after he snapped the first branch, instead of offering him a cigarette from an extended firetruck ladder....a bean bag shot to the head would have dropped this idiot faster than Bill Clinton's pants.

On the radio yesterday, Danny Partridge said they should shoot him with a dart and that since there are so many tree limbs, he'd fall safely to the ground like he was in a big pachinko game.
Can't help but lose a little respect for you after you admit that you actually listen to Danny Partridge. ...the dentists drill is more appealing. Ha. I was stuck in that colossal traffic jam on 5 south at hwy 104. I guess you could say I was trying to commit suicide via Danny. I don't know what the deal is with that stretch of fwy that makes so many people fold up their cars like accordions. Yeah sure Clownspanker......sure!

They positioned 4 cops holding a blanket under the tree and brought him down with a tranquilizer dart.
Then they put a radio collar around his neck and released him in Shelton. Interesting that the latest reports say that he's already made it as far as Quilcene, they're not sure if he walked, hitchhiked or ...whatever, but he seems to be settling in there, they suspect that much like a dog he may have a "homing instinct" and that he has reunited with his herd. All the dogs, wild animals, and livestock from Duckabush Valley have recently ended up in Quilcene looking for a new home. Wonder what scared them outta there?

I agree Todd, but the officers are just taking orders. Rumor has it, the same guy climbed one of the tower cranes we put up, that same morning. He tripped a motion detector and was chased off. Tallest crane in town. Could have been pretty ugly.
