I think you might be right Duc. I don't see any other way this gets worked out both sides are too far apart and to imbeded to make any concessions, the only way to resolve it is through violence.

We are moving towards a much simpler existence, of self sustained living.

We are going to have some events that dramatically reduce the world's population, World war other places, civil war here, and then we are going backwards 100 years, yet maintaining some use of technology.

Do I think LE would shoot private citizens if directed? 50/50, some would quit when it got to the point of taking guns, the ones that will take guns will definitely shoot you.

When I started out as a cop in the 90's it was very difficult to find a liberal progressive who would out themselves witin your ranks, as time went by it was obvious that these types became more obundant and kind of took over, the reason is departments found that they got more money if they went along with things, police have also become more militarized both in amorment and policy, and have been trained to have an (us against them mentality).

20 years ago cops would never take guns or follow orders to shoot you. Today is different, people are different. The cops today have been conditioned to do this, They know it's coming and I am sure most are a ball of stress because of it. The truth is many of them will go along with whatever they are told for self preservation, they have families, mortgages and don't have the freedom not to take orders.

The military is a different story, I would say 90% of them would refuse orders to harm americans. The military has a different mentality than cops, they are trained to love this county and the people within it, cops are trained to hate the country and the people within it.

I can tell you how it all started, how the powers that be softened LE to the point that taking guns was no big deal.

I was a cop when the DV laws were first implemented, at that time that's when it became unlawful for you to possess firearms or own them if you had been convicted of DV assault. Many cops lost their jobs at that moment, even if they had committed DV 20 years earlier and it was on record. How it relates is this; for the first 5 years or so whenever you had to remove guns from a household or individual for DV you did not feel right, kinda felt guilty like it was betrail of another American, because you knew what you were doing was against your oath but it was justified to save lives. After a few years of doing this it just became part of your job.

In about 2006 things took another step, all of a sudden judges started issueing orders to remove firearms from individuals merely if their neighbor filed for an anti-harrasment order. All the petitioning party had to say is " my neighbor looked at me funny and I know he has guns and I am afraid", the judge would issue a tempory order of protection, ordering cops to go to the residence and focreibly remove firearms until after the hearing for perminent order, at that time the accused party would be able to defend themselves, if they proved they were no threat they could get their guns back maybe a couple months later... This went on for a couple years and then stopped for some reason, kinda like it was to see how the public and Police would react. People did not react well to blantent violations to their rights even if it was done under the premise of community caretaking.

Anyways They have been softening the cops and judges up for a while by trying to change how they view things. They have been successful I might add.

I was run out of town pretty much,,, I could not be bribed and refused to conform, aired all their dirty laundry, I was attacking them and they were attacking me. I knew I was ultimately going to loose the sheriff race and after I did I still did not shut up. Finally 1 1/2 years later they used someone to set me up for workplace harassment against all the people I had reported crimes against. I went on framily medical leave paid $10,000 for a couple employment attorneys, and prepared for more war.

Ultimately I gave up, knowing I would not survive a lawsuit, it would have drug out for years. Cashed out my retirement and waved goodbye.

Bummer.
