I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about the fact that it was a gay bar that got shot up. While I completely sympathize with the victims who lost their life for no reason, I don't see why they are any different then the rest of the Americans that have or could be victims today.

Reasonable questions coming from the Devil Paker. Hunting rifles don't need more than 5 rounds. And most target shooting needs could be satisfied with single shot long guns or hand guns. The reason for higher capacity magazines is found in the reason pistols replaced revolvers for general police work: increased defensive and offensive capability.

I once considered a 5-round .38 revolver for a home defense weapon. I can put 5 consecutive shots near the center of the target at the gravel pit, but accounts of real life live-fire shooting incidents report that the majority of shots fired miss their mark. So a pistol with a 10 to 15-round magazine helps offset the statistics about missed shots. If some of my shots fired hit the refrigerator, I want the others to hit the intruder.

I think Todd's right. Too many mass shootings for the government to continue doing nothing. My assessment of the problem is that most of the proposed actions, short of a ban and seizure of all handguns and "scary black rifles", won't result in much of a decrease in firearm homicides in the U.S. Universal background checks for all firearm transactions were estimated a couple years ago when WA passed its BGC initiative were estimated to result in a decrease of between 1 and 2%. Of course any victim that might be in that 1 or 2% would appreciate the result, but on a national scale firearm deaths would continue mostly unabated.

Most of the mass shooters in the U.S. in the recent years did pass background checks, so expanding that ain't gonna' solve much. An assault weapons ban doesn't do much good either. We tried that a while back, and manufacturers simply build guns that fall just outside the definition of whatever's banned. If the gov't. bans "scary black rifles" the manufacturers will simply sell red and blue ones. Gov't. seizure of weapons just might provoke armed revolt, and I don't see that ever gaining much traction. I speculate that some kind of gun registration may be invoked, which will make many gun owners felons because they oppose registration. It might reduce firearm deaths in some measurable way, but probably not all that much.

I can't envision any legislation that allows lawful firearm ownership that also accurately predicts which lawful owners will subsequently become mentally disturbed and commit gun violence.

I have a 5 round .38, the first shell is a shot shell. You'll hit the intruder and while he is trying to get the pellet out of his eyeball, you can finish him off with the other four rounds and not hit your Bud light in the frig.

1) If all 100 people wounded or dead had a gun would the shooter have entered the establishment and opened fire??

2) If all the patrons had guns and he did open fire how long would he have shot before he was shot??

3) If Salmo was shooting how many times would he have missed?

The rifle is just like the religion in this and in most of these lone wolf attacks.

This was not a terrorist attack for the simple reason it wasn't a terrorist target.

1) There is no magazine restriction in Washington for big game hunting. Magazine restrictions apply to shotguns for migratory birds.

2) The 2A is not about your right to hunt, that right doesn't exist.

3) The 2A isn't about target shooting.

4) The protections and rights enumerated in the Constitution, specifically the 2A, are OUR protection against a tyrannical government. The 2A isn't about hunting, target shooting or even defense against burglars, those protections are there so we have recourse against a despotic and tyrannical government.

A good and just way to protect American citizens is to stop importing people that have sworn to kill us and our way of life. Allowing scum that hates everything we stand for into our country is reckless and anti-American. These animals have no intention of assimilating or becoming productive members of society. They're goal is to convert the USA into another repressive shlthole, not unlike every other region they've fcked up. Every country, city and region with a majority population of goat fckers is a despotic wasteland of murder, rape and mayhem. They are, by and large, worthless animals with no conscience and no decency. There's a reason that for millennia every civilized nation hated the muslims and did their damndest to kill as many as possible.
