Alright, alright. I fully expected some less than positive feedback on that post. That said, while we disagree about the potential implications of the apparent trend, we seem to agree that political corruption led to the fall of Rome. Do you deny that our own government is becoming increasingly corrupt? Dan said as much in his next post....

I DID NOT say that transgender people were equivalent to pedophiles. That pedophilia would be a more advanced deviation from what most generally think of as acceptable behavior than a transgender lifestyle was an important part of my argument.

As regards the relationship between sex and identity, Dan, I'd ask you what is the FIRST thing you identify about a new person you meet? I could be wrong, but I strongly suspect that once you've determined they're human, your next distinction is male or female. If that's right, don't you think sex is at least very nearly the ultimate aspect of a person's identity?

I should also clarify for you that it's not my identity I'm concerned about. I know what I am, and while I'm far from perfect, I'm comfortable in my own skin (the skin I was born in). If somebody else wants to be different, I'm cool with that, but I don't think our government should make laws that placate them just because they're different. If there were any assurance only transgender people would be using opposite sex bathrooms, I'd be a lot less concerned. Call me old fashioned, but I don't want my daughters sharing a bathroom with potential pedophiles. Our government just made a law that makes that a real possibility, if not an eventuality. I'm not pleased. Sorry.

One last thing: I agree that civil rights are for all. Laws may not benefit all people, but if we're doing it right, they should benefit the majority. If the majority thinks this stuff is okay, I guess this was a good law....

Couldn't agree more. There have been more exposed perverts in the Republican Party than the Democrats by a long shot. Better be careful if you want to be a page or intern for them. (Hastert) Looks like his molesting escapades cost him millions plus a prison sentence. He's just one of many. One more reason why I ditched the party of @ssholes a long time ago. In my 64 years I have never seen a worse bunch of contradictory, mean spirited, big business protecting, lying, "good old boys club" dirt bags. As I've said so many times and will say many more times, unless your are one of the 1% and you vote for any of them, it's like peeing in the wind and letting it blow back on you. They have sh!t on what they haven't fvcked up for the last 30 years. A vote for them is just that a vote for them and not for you. Trump calls Hillary a liar yet no one has spewed more lies and bullsh!t than him. He's changed his story more than his clothes and it just continues.

That's OK - there has never been a Presidential election since I've been of voting age that wasn't over before the west coast's polls closed, so our votes mean sh!t anyway - which is nice.

What this election year proves is just how fuckin stupid and dishonest the left is. Trump is about as moderate and middle of the road as a "republican" can be. Their hatred and fear of him is cutting deep; cutting themselves deep. They always say that what the right needs is a moderate, someone that believes abortion is settled law and gays shouldn't be discriminated against. When that guy shows up they throw out ridiculous blanket statements and the usual cliches, all proving what a bunch kunts they are. I'm enjoying this election year as much as I've enjoyed any, mostly hoping Trump gets elected and many limp wristed lefties blow their brains out. They're too much of a pusssy to do it though and I doubt their aim is good enough to hit their pea sized thinker.
