All of this because of some reckless over zealous PIGS in other states. Talk about blood on their hands. This could all be a turning point with the way Cops do business. I feel sorry for 90% of Cops that are outstanding public servers.

You beleive me yet??? Remember what have been saying since who know when, it may not be Tuesday but???
It sucks for the cops and their families but unless they had their heads in he sand they knew this was coming, I have warned all the ones I know that they should quit their jobs and move to a place where no one knows who hey are because they will be in danger, probably even targeted. none believed me in 2011 but I bet they are now..
I hope some of these cops get smart and walk away because things are not gojng to get any easier or safer for them, I am sure as hell glad I am out of it, I'd have constant diarrahea and anxiety if this was the country I was going to work n every day.

A microcosm of history of Mankind. You hit, I hit back. The Dallas cops had nothing to do with the latest batch of killing by cop, but paid the price nonetheless. A pox on all of them, cops and criminals alike.

I was listening to the news this morning, and heard the excuse that cops are so extra vigilante because so many of them are getting killed. So, I took a look at the numbers. On general, of the approximate 900,000 officers, about 45 are killed each year, or about 0.00016%. In contrast, of the general population, about 41 or so are murdered for 900,000. I would guess that if we took out the babies, invalids and such, our chance of being murdered are as high or higher than an officer getting killed. I wonder how scared we should be.
This year appears to be bit higher, with 28 killed by gun violence so far. But then, they have killed over a 628 so far this year, so the numbers do appear to be in their favor. I do realize that almost all 628 probably deserved what they got and that the 28 probably did not, but this statement that they are so scared really is questionable. Each one of us probably has a similar or higher chance of being killed each day, and we do not choose to put ourselves into that position, nor do we get paid to do so.

WTF was that Miami cop thinking???
How anyone, cop or not, can walk up on that scene I see either the black guy or the autistic child as a threat is totally mind boggling. And now the Union Chief is saying the cop was trying to shoot the autistic kid because he was a threat to the black guy who he ended up shooting???
WTF!
Are cops drug tested?

Generally, around here the police unions have fought hard to prevent random drug testing. After an accident or shooting they are but not randomly like the kid at Safeway that bags my groceries. Cops are beyond reproach and drug testing them would just be a huge waste of time and money. The money saved can be used to pay for the lawsuits and settlements for police misconduct. Win-Win.tic

The libitards shoot themselves in the foot by being so pro-Union... Which creates a safe haven for these [Bleeeeep!] cops that need to go. Unions protect the good but they also protect the bad. The same goes with teachers... The only thing that seems cause teachers to lose their job these days is doinkin' a kid... And it's a shame that most of the time it seems to be the hot teachers.
IMO, departments need to more heavily invest in community oriented policing. They also need to reconsider their hiring practices and not so heavily favor hiring fresh vets who have yet to fully reintegrate back into society with the skill set that police officers need nowadays. De-militarizing the police can start with not hiring so many ex military to begin with. Having been through the hiring process myself with almost a masters degree, relatable experience, top scores on the written and physical tests, and passing the oral board interviews and background checks while still not getting a job demonstrates a clear flaw in the hiring system. 0.02

Good post Streamer. Spot on with the deficiencies of the hiring process and the role of unions covering up the crimes committed by their members.
The cops have fostered the us vs. them attitude and it's biting them in the ass now. I've always been on the side of the law which is perhaps why I dislike most cops. They think they're above the law and usually they are. Historically I was the kind of guy that would jump in to help a cop struggling with a suspect but not anymore. I won't risk getting shot by a responding cop with an itchy trigger finger, instead I'll stand back and watch, not knowing who is right and who is wrong. It's no longer the case that the guy with the badge is a good guy.
BLM uses the wrong cases in which to illustrate the problem belying their grievances and their tactics don't further their cause. They do however highlight the problem of morally unjustifiable use of deadly force. The most disenfranchised elements of society are the barometer of the injustices suffered by all. While I disagree with virtually everything that the BLM does, I don't disagree with their underlying message. Black lives matter, but not just in death. Gangbangers live by the sword and die by the sword, irregardless of who wields that sword.

The excuse in Miami is so inane it pitiful. Lets see, the sniper missed by close to 10 feet from less than 50 yards away, shooting the man he was "protecting" I guess he rolled him over and handcuffed him afterwards so he did not struggle to much with the medics.
What's worse, shooting an unarmed man or having trained snipers that can not make a 50 yard shot?

To answer your question Krijack about what's worse? I'd say a cop with no trigger control or discipline is worse.

A cop with no control is hopefully an isolated incident that will be discovered and weeded out. A police force that trains it best and ends up with officers that can not make a 50 yard shot and as a group can not make rational decisions, and is then backed up by a leadership that tries to defend such actions, points to an incompetent force from the top down, and a group that is totally out of touch with reality. One that thinks it is above responsibility for its mistakes or bad decisions. I think more and more we have reached that type of police force. And that does scare me more than one bad cop.
