Someone asked which candidates are best for the fish. Here's a rating system by a non-partisan consulting firm specializing in the conservation of marine fish and essential habitats. They don't have the records for non-incumbents, but they do have an opinion on G.W. Bush's priorities, based on his Texas record. Unfortunately, John Carlson is free of such official records and can promise anything he pleases. The site rates all 535 U.S. legislators as either "friends of fish" or "enemies of fish," based on 30 key fishery-related issues over the past two years. www.geocities.com/Eureka/Vault/8020/CongressRating.html

I'll also share a link to an excellent Sept. 9 "guest column" in the Seattle P-I, by a fellow Olypen angler, concerning "urban meddling in rural affairs." http://seattlep-i.nwsource.com/opinion/soap9.shtml

Thanks big time Scaly! This is a non-partison study group based near Wash. D.C. This is a very timely post revelation, that many of us political watchers were already aware of. But we should get it out on every fishing website we can to educate the unaware. I will put it up on ours right now. - RT

Scaly and Marty, I tried to post this to our BB and it would not access the site. I checked and re-checked the URL. I wasn't exactly the valedictorian of PC/internet school, if ya know what I mean. This is an important subject. Could one of you guys that know more about the net try to post this to our BB, other forums too if you find time, to see if you can get it to work. From what I posted it only brought up a page that said "This site under construction .... blah blah...". So I deleted it. It accesses right away from this site. Wazup? Thanks. - RT

RT: See all the "edits" below my post?? I had a similar problem with the URL. Finally noticed that Bob's system wanted to add a period after the "html" and I had to manually remove it before the link would work right. Hope that's all you need to do, too. (Try going to edit, then backspace over the period, if there's one there.)
Good luck!

Bring this post up near the top for the "debates" in 8 FOOT LEADER's thread; "BUSH OR GORE- who's better for salmon". That's a no-brainer Q by 8 FOOT. His thread is a bit suprising in how little the issue seemed to mean to many of the "mindset" voters arguing.
