Plunking would be known as still fishing in the river with about an 8oz. weight, pretty long leader attached to a fairly large spin-n-glow and sandshrimp. Basically you get to sit there all day long watching your pole just like you were trout fishing in a lake with power bait.

Finegrain;
Click the search (up on the right) and enter Plunking. Lots of hits on that. I'm sure you will find a fine description of Plunking. You might also search "bank maggot".

Hey Guts big diff. between a bank maggott and a plunker,both can be effective
The maggot usually gets his feet wet and does'nt bring a lawn chair or a pole holder

Finegrain learn what you can on plunking it's another effective method for Salmon and Steelhead.When the rivers are right drift fish and cover lots of water and when the waters high and off color,while most guys are sitting on the couch,you can and will hook fish by plunking.
