Polls are perceived to sway public opinion, and that's why they frequently are skewed to reflect the desired outcome, versus the actual current figures. I think there is a school of thought, which I dont subscribe to, that believes that if the polls make it look likely that a certain outcome will occur, that you will have "bandwagon voters" jump aboard, or conversely, voter suppression because they think their vote wont matter.

This election result blows those campaign strategies out of the water, hopefully forever.

Good-quality polls MAY give an accurate sense of where a political race is at a point in time, but they don’t predict the future. Its now clear that the most criticized Poll, that from the LA times, proved to be the most accurate in the last 120 days.

Nate Silver is a sellout establishment buffoon. Smart guy, but He uses his status, or he is used, for political influence rather than independantly reporting facts.

I crunch big data at work, and its almost always easy to find numbers to support your desired conclusions.

For me it's pretty simple. Group think. When no one you've ever met or hang out with is pro Brexit or pro Trump your poll is going to ignore or, at least, alienate those folks.

Hats off to Rich for seeing thru the fog. Extremely difficult to stand on a hill yelling, "The king has no clothes" while the masses are gathered around commenting on what a beautiful (birthday) suit the king is wearing!!!

I didn't mind having people beat me down, call me terrible names and telling me to kill myself every time I checked the dark side. It was worth it and I knew I was right anyways.

Based on my personal experience with government curruption I knew Trump was telling the truth, and it was even worse than he was saying. I felt I could help his cause here by maybe informing people of things they might not have known about. I made people think a little more than maybe they would have, and consider things maybe they wouldn't of.

I knew that the actors on this BB were mostly ultra progressive liberal which would make for some really nasty and dirty threads between me and them, the kind of threads that were both entertaining and educational, which alot of lurkers would follow.

I set out here on the dark side to help fix this country, I feel obligated because I've seen how bad it is and people need to know about it so they can make informed decisions. You might say it was a waste of time because probably only a few hundred individuals saw it but I don't think so, I think it probably did some good and I had a good time.

I tried for a while on Facebook but you end up losing to many friends and family over this stuff.
