DD,
Good looking specimen. I have an 870 Wingmaster trade in coming late next week. It is surely not in the same shape your Beretta is. Do you have any tips for refinishing stocks? Is it something a novice like myself could tackle?

Nice, the 870 is one of the best pump scatterguns ever made.

Not an expert, but I know that you want to resist the urge to sand because too much can change the shape.
Use a chemical remover.

For finish I notice that Birchwood Casey's Tru-Oil is a crowd favorite.

Sometimes you can find nice "furniture" on Ebay or Gunbroker if you want to go that route.

Good luck.

Start with a belt sander. grin

Just joking...don't do that. DD is right, there are tons of after market goodies for the 870's. Ghost rings sights are a nice affordable upgrade on that shotty.

No.
Hammer a 12 pack AND THEN start in with the belt sander.
My favorite being the 4x24 Makita and a good IPA for the other.

Fawk, I thought this was about 1911's ?
Mention guns and all the loonies (me, too) chime in.
We might need a gun looney sub-forum after all.

My bad. I saw police trade in and changed course like a jet skiing Lk Washington sockeye fisherman. I recently enjoyed firing a Colt Government model 1911. It had a compensator and the trigger pull was quite pleasant. I really, really didn't want to like it as much as I did.

DD- I use this shoulder holster and think it's fantastic. Safe to carry in condition 0 because the leather tension strap drapes across the firing pin.

Oh, and I've always loved the look of the 92F, but they feel like crap when I've shot them. I always think I need one for my collection, but I'd never shoot it.

As for shoulder holsters? #DonJohnson #MiamiVice #WannabeCop #ColeyISaCopy

It's still 2016, and it is Tuesday.

Try an M9A3.
That's the latest version.
(threaded barrel, too)

In my opinion the sickest revolver ever made. These Colt's have sky rocketed in the last 10 years.

Pythons are nice.
Their pricing is out of whack.
Pricing might be OK if they could defeat Darth Vader and his light saber, though.

When I wanted my first 9mm auto I Googled, searched ad nauseum.
"Best 9mm auto"

CZ 75 kept popping up.
Supposedly the most copied design next to 1911 and truly one of the great pistols, IMO.
Just not that popular in the US, as it was the gun of our enemies during the Cold War and didn't get imported until later.

Anyway, I ended up with one of these.
(mine has stock grips, the one in the pic has Al comp grips)
Low bore axis and all steel.
Lots of race parts available too.

CZ 75 SP-01

18+1 (some claim 19+1)
Good for long duration gunfights.

Really?

Next to the Browning hi-power I think that Beretta fits my hand better than about any auto pistol I've ever held. It's an over built 9mm for sure, big, tough & reliable.

That CZ 75 is a looker, like to shoot one in 10mm.

Anyone own a Star PD it was that little compact 45 Auto popular as a bug back in the day? I had one and it was a hoot to shoot with hardball, but a little tough to hang on to.....

I am mostly a big bore revolver guy but I do have a few autos, shooting more .22 long rifle pistols & 38 wadcutters in my old age...lol

Word on the street says that SIG P320 might be the military's next sidearm.
Apparently it's the only one in the Finals that fully meets specifications.

For a 10mm I would take a hard look at this one....
Not a budget rig, but who cares ?

Add a Diamond D Guide's Choice chest rig and you are set.
