After Trump's tirade against NFL players who protest during the anthem, I read a suggestion that made me smile. What if EVERY black professional athlete in the NFL, NBA, and MLB took a weekend off from playing. Face it, without black athletes, there wouldn't be much left of professional sports in the U.S.

The president should focus on learning how to lead a nation and stay out of professional sports, since he's not any good at either.

Sol Duc, now is the time to make them pay for their constant activism and pushing progressive ideals. Call all of their advertisers and ask them if they or their products support NFL in promoting anti-American values.

Gooybob, the issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. Sports are about coming together as Americans to compete, regardless of your race or politics. NFL must respect this!

The US Government has been paying the NFL to do the National Anthem to increase enlistment in the military. The NFL takes over $6.8 million of taxpayer dollars to advertise for America and then lets the players disrespect America in the middle of the patriotic ad. All while they are getting paid on America's dime!

it wasn't until 2009 when the national guard paid the NFL over 5 million that team started coming onto the field for the anthem.

Trump has been anti-NFL since the old USFL days. He owned the New Jersey Generals and sued the NFL unsuccessfully. He has been against the NFL ever since he failed.

Actually Trump and the other USFL owners won their anti-trust suit against the NFL. They were awarded $1 dollar in damages. Under anti-trust law payouts, the damages were tripled to $3 dollars (and I'm sure their lawyers got $2.99). This totally makes up for the $163 million they collectively lost when the league folded immediately afterwards.
