You misunderstand me, sir. My vote is leave the current reporting systems in place, but ADD a digital option for those willing to volunteer. Best of both worlds.

I'd just like to know why the dept website charges a dealer fee for license purchases

WDFW has a contract with the vendor who runs the license sales system. They get paid for their handling of sales, same as a local license agent.

"WDFW has a contract with the vendor who runs the license sales system. They get paid for their handling of sales, same as a local license agent."

Are you saying that WDFW gets paid by the vendor for selling WDFW licensees?

I agree with this comment......I've used Eric for Chehalis River information on Chehalis River springer's, jack salmon, and other salmon catch totals. He's straight foreword and a positive influence for WDFW.

Thanks Eric.....

WDFW has a contract with a company, I think in Missouri, to handle their license sales - they run the computers used by license agents to issue your license. I don't know what percentage of the license fees go to cover the contract, but a large percentage goes back to WDFW for its operational costs. I'm pretty sure the current contract is just a couple of years old and is with a different company that the one they were using a few years back.
