I have this week off and was thinking of fishing the cowlitz a couple of times. Is it any good right now? I have only fished there below Blue Creek in my sled a few times, never anywhere else. What is the water like at Barrier Dam for boats? Are the silvers worth fishing for? Any winter fish at Blue creek yet? Thanks for the info.

I took my sled up there on Saturday and fished below Blue Creek. I saw several nice fish being packed out by bank fishermen, and saw several hooked and landed from boats. Generally, though (at least for boats) it seemed pretty slow. We fished from 10 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. and never had a hit. Another boat pulling out did the same. I also spoke to one drift boat fisherman who had floated from the barrier dam to Blue Creek. He said they had hooked a couple of burned out Silvers. I'd say it's still worth the trip, though, Winter Steelhead ought to show any time.

With the water being so high. would it be hard taking the driftboat from blue creek to mission. Thanks in advance.

CT,

No, you'll just drift to Mission that much faster! Man, the Big C just rolls when those generators are spinnin'! Makes me think I need to add 10 lbs. to my anchor. Ouch, my back!

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Salmo g.
