I worked on this short film this summer with my 7 year old daughter. She has been using a Tenkara rod for about 2 or 3 years now. I've been impressed on how independant she is getting: taking care of her rod, catching fish, taking them off the hook herself. So we made a little film to try and capture it. I wrote and performed all the background music. I used a old GoPro for underwater shots and I used a Nikon D600 for the above water shots. I used Adobe premier for putting it together and garageband for the soundtrack. I entered it in RIO's fishing film contest, so if you like it give it a vote, otherwise go vote for someone elses video!

This is a tough time of year for me. Seems harder and harder to get into the Christmas spirit, whatever that may be nowadays. In all of the commercialized "busy"-ness that we're bombarded with, the true meaning of the holiday (or more correctly, THE Holy Day) somehow gets lost in the shuffle of amassing material gifts.

Gifts come in all sizes, shapes, and dollar values... but the very best ones often have no price tag at all. I opened this up today and felt moved to share it with everyone I know. It made my day... hopefully it makes yours.
