There were also 50+ coho and 20+ cutthroat counted as well. The coho must be strays as they don’t plant them in there to my knowledge.
It’s always fun to go down there in March and watch the kids get excited when they release the fry. Kind of cool to watch how quickly they head downstream and out to the salt once released.

In regards to summer chums, the count on the Union this year crushed the previous record with over 12k+ during the two month counting period.

Yep, good nutrients. Crabs are going to eat well also.
I’m looking forward to this spring and cutt fishing the fry outmigration.
We should start seeing the first fry in late February. There weren’t many around last year, at least where I like to fish.
