I rented a new 2019 ford ranger when I was on my vacation in Florida. That will be my next purchase.

Thanks Stam, War Paint, and Hank for the info. I've been looking at the Toyota Rav but I hear that the engine noise is pretty loud when driving. Highlander is appealing. If I tow anything, it will be my 14' Lund, so under 1,500#, so no trouble with most SUV's.
I've heard good things about the Subaru Forester but the new models don't have the turbo. Decisions, decisions....

Excuse me 4 your right when you spend hours every day reading the archives of this great the life beyond fishing you can really get things confused like it’s weird the more posts of Hanker my good friend that I read the less good feelings i have for him it’s almost like Hanker just posts a bunch of garbage and you don’t really realize it until you read years of his posts and you see that they’re all pretty much the same. Datsun 210 Hatchback 1981. Great commuter car. After my Chevy died. Had an electrical problem couldn't start. Mechanic couldn't fix it. I replaced the coil and it worked like a charm ever since. Got rear ended on I-5 north bound out of Seattle like in 1988. Got insurance money and bought a Ford Mustang1984 SVO turbo was my favorite hot rod. Totalled by some drunk on 1st Ave in Seattle.

54 Ford 2 door sedan.
57 Chev 2 door hardtop.
65 Ford Mustang 2+2 fastback 4 speed. $3200.00 brand new of the showroom floor.
65 Chevelle 2 door hardtop 3 speed.
65 Ford Bronco
70 Chev Malibu 350 4 sped. Fast
40 Ford coupe flathead 3 speed.
Probably a few more I can't remember.
Now I'm on my 3rd Suburban.
