so i went to Robi's camera yesterday with the full intention of spending 600 dollars on that Tamron lens...

one of the long time employees, talked me out of it, UNLIKE the salesman before who told me "come back when you have the money", little did he know, i could have bought 15 of the damn things if i wanted to, asshole...

basically, my lens, is the exact same thing, just not with Vibration Comp, which when you are using super fast shutter speeds, like for aircraft, cars, and when its super sunny out, you dont need... because the shutter is so fast, the VC or VR (Nikon), doesnt even engage as it doesnt have time to...

so we went to the races today, lens worked pretty good, did start messing with the M and A modes, but most of the pictures were actually taken on Auto no flash...

fun day...

it was all sorts of cars, but you paid for the United Nitro Funny Car Association cars, which were 5 second 250+ MPH cars...

what the camera didnt do well, well what I didnt do well, was video with it, you need a tripod or something, plus the car i tried to video, was pretty insane....

heres the sh!tty video, the sound was something i havent experienced yet as ive never gone to the NW Nationals with the top fuelers, this lady was a 1 run exhibition run for the fans....

You've come a long way since the nights filled with blurry moon pics. You'll never get good stabilized video with that camera & lens setup, even on a tri-pod. Especially in that ground shaking environment. It's not built for it and I'm sure you already know that.

Photography is something I know very little about. I just have an idiot box (cell) and dumb thumb it until I get something resembling a pic.

i do like that picture, but i think it could have been centered better...

that was a 3500 ish HP 1968 slingshot dragster that crashed a long time ago, and the guy rebuilt everything... they dont race it anymore, just a cackle car....

i ended up buying a UV filter and a Polarizer filter at Robi's before we went, all pictures were taken with both lenses with UV filters on them, made a bit of a difference i think...

havent used the Polarizer yet, will likely use that for the planes if its super sunny out, and also, for fishing....

jesus those things are expensive for a little piece of glass...
