I am relatively new to steelheading, and have gotten up the courage to finally fish Blue Creek. Since it is a couple of hours from my house, I would like to have an idea of what river levels I should expect before I waste my time.

Does anyone know of a good site to check out? What discharge is ideal for this section?

Thanks!

This is the address to the river level site I use. When bank fishing Blue Creek I prefer it to be 8,000 to 10,000 cfs. A friend of mine went this afternoon and said the fishing had slowed down since they lowered the river level to 6300 cfs. There are still fish being caught but not like earlier this week when it was around 10,000 cfs.

I fished the Cowlitz yesturday the water is flowing 6200cfm and there was about a foot of visibility in the main river. It looked like the creek was a little better. There are fish being caught but last week it was pretty good for the bankers at Blue Creek. I think once these storms blow through and things come back into shape fishing should pick up again. We are catching mostly 3 salt which are some nice fish ranging from 13 to 15lbs with some 17 and 18lb fish being caught in the mix. We are still waiting on the 2 salt to show there are few being caught and it should only get better.I would leave you a html to my site but I am not allowed to post them. My site address is in my signature at the bottom if you would like to check it out. Good luck and happy holidays.

Chasen,
If you have been asked to not post your webpage address I would suggest taking it out of your signature line!

This is Bobs page, he paid to have it put together, he put the hours in initially to get it rolling, he pays to keep it going.

I personally think it is very rude for you to do any of your business on this page...that is my opinion of course...but I don't think my mind will get changed.

Contribute all you want...just leave your name and business out of it.

Jim

Sorry Bob, not fishing related delete if you need to.

Your right Jim it would be rude if I was trying to steal some of Bob's business, but that not what I am trying to do.
All I am trying to do is offer anglers another source of information. If you read most of the posts on this site guys are not looking for a guide to take them fishing. There looking for information to help them catch fish and places to go and technique so they are one step ahead when they head out to the river. Everyone has there own opinion and I'm sorry if you feel that way.
If I was asking people to come on a guided trip to learn how to fish the different rivers then I would agree that I was being rude and that's not what I am doing. I'm just offering information and that's it. If Bob wanted to come to my site and leave a post on my board I would not have a problem with that. I was even thinking about leaving a link from my board to his board so that anglers leaving posts would have another source of information to check.
I am also sorry this is not fishing related but I had to give a reply to explain.
