For anyone who likes to make their own rags in the Portland area, I noticed that Fisherman's Marine in Delta Park was selling 3/8-inch white backer rod. They packaged it in 6 six-inch strips for $1.99. That works out to about 66 cents a foot. Look for it in the aisle with the corkies. I didn't get out to the Oregon City store but they should have some also.

Considering the cost on Backer Rod is about .01 cents a foot, maybe a better deal could be found.

I know this has been asked and answered before, but where can one purchase bulk white backer rod in the Seattle area?

Or, can anyone tell me if the grey backer rod works? Any advantages to white over grey? Should I shy away from grey all together?

Anyone got any great on-line sources for the white backer rod?

Thanks in advance,

Parker

Hey Strike Zone--What kind of store is McClendens and where is it? Have you got an address or phone # for them?

Thanks

hey sticky, I grew up in springfield fishing the Mckenzie and haven't fished it for about 10 years or so, I was just wondering if it is still a good steelheading river. I've got family down there and have been meaning to get back there.
