Try casting it straight out in front of you. Start close and work it out. Slowly retrieve the lure so that it's working right off of the bottom. If it's a spoon you want it to wobble not spin. The strike is usually hard so hold on. Try blue fox spinners and little cleo spoons in silver colors.
