I understand that people that aren't good at math don't know what exponential growth looks like, but it's like the numbers above. They stay relatively small for a while, and then shoot through the roof very quickly.

This is clearly a big deal. If you don't think it is, you will eventually. I don't remember ever being less certain of what tomorrow is bringing - and everyone hates uncertainty, especially the stock market.

I know this, Fat Nixon should just stop talking. Every time he does, the market tanks. It apparently hates him. That's because the market is about making money, not licking shoes and sniffing farts. If you can't see it because your eyes stopped working, then enjoy your fart-sniffing.

...which literally are what socialized medicine include.

Even our third world country level of hospital beds is caused by private health care...it doesn't make monetary sense to have plenty of beds on hand, not unless there are paying customers in them.

Add in the unsurprising complete failure of Trump to be able to lead, inspire, or even speak moderately intelligently about anything, and we are getting what anyone could have predicted.

Trump's only concern in this is the stock market, because it is literally what he has hung his re-election hat on.

So true. Evict a tenant who lost his job and then what? Rent to a new unemployed tenant who also just lost his job? Even the most strident of capitalists are just going to have to ride this out.

Speaking of capitalists, I bet the reason this administration doesn’t have any imaginative programs in the works, and can’t get enough tests being made, is because they are all trying to figure out how to make money off of this. It is still profits first during a pandemic. Do you really think Trump doesn’t have his teams and their teams hoping to buy a bunch of stock in the company that finds the cure?

I don’t think Washington DC can work to really protect the people any more. Its always about making sure the team gets the money.

So far the only solution has been print money like in 2008. 2008 was a financial crisis. This is an unprecedented modern pandemic. Totally different.
