I hope that those of you who were able to make it out today are staying safe and getting your harvest on!
I can't get away from my desk until Thursday morning, but there are some critters out there right now that I hope to be bagging this weekend, and a four day weekend of harvest time is just what I need right about now.
Good luck!
Fish on...
Todd

Sometimes it's hard being so essential, would have been a good day to get out. Good luck to all you non-essentials, get 'em! So THAT's Evo's secret! Don't be essential for anything in life and you can pretty much do what you want when you want. Not bad "work" if you can get it. HAHAHA!!! Get it? I said "work" when referring to Evo. Hilarious.

Was going to go to a super secret springer spot Lol but decided on a day in the woods instead and was rewarded with a six point shed that should have been an eight but two were busted off. Tried like hell to find the other side of this warrior but no dice. Had to carry the dog the last two miles back to the rig she had enough. Awesome day and super lucky to have it off (agriculture essential) and an understanding boss. Rest of the week will be back at my desk and cold room but I’ll be back out Saturday to try and match the pair. Good stuff and hope everyone gets to get out and enjoy themselves all be it safely. Cheers

Took the family for a hike to the river. Spotted several steelhead redds and a couple of fish. Threw rocks in the river. Going to take the boy out trout fishing on Saturday.

Cheers Congrats on the big one! Easily as exciting as a 20lb buck in my book. Your post inspired me to go deep on the hunt myself, hit a hard to get to zone I've been eyeballin' for a few years now that was paydirt, 3 right side 6 points with the biggest being off of a 330ish bull, good finds but a tough pack out, about 7 miles and 2500 of elevation gain, dog is worn out, me too. Once my body mends I can't wait to go back for more.

I made six casts, no fish so I stopped. That's the normal routine.
My dog is the limiting factor when hunting for sheds too. It will get worse as it gets warmer.
I'm still looking for elk and moose sheds, haven't found those here yet.
I did find a couple of cougar teeth in an old deer kill, plus a complete bobcat skull.
There are fewer deer kills now because the wolves thinned the heard and moved on.

There are fewer deer kills now because the wolves thinned the heard and moved on. I saw the aftermath of when a pack of wolves had basically moved in to the area we used to hunt for deer in WA state. The place was devoid of the deer that it used to have. To say that wolves thin a heard, is either really true, or probably an understatement. Not saying wolves are good or bad, but man, they are sure are good at doing what they do best. Sucks for us hunters.

I found 20+ kills the first summer, some very fresh, only 2 somewhat fresh ones since then.
I monitored the kills to see how long they last, and when few bits and pieces are left. In less than a year virtually every bit of the kill is gone.
Those first year kills haven't been replaced at the same rate, funny, all the wolf sign is gone too.
Prior to the wolves moving in their were elk and deer everywhere.
In areas with no wolf activity the deer and elk are still seen frequently.
