Why is the coinage being pulled out of circulation. Banks are shorting change orders because the FED has shorted their deliveries. Big corps are not giving change at all, either you pay exact cash or round up.

We have years worth of clad change, since 1964 so this is weird.

Could be a couple things, a copper penny is worth twice its face value in melt price. 2 cent pennies don't seem like a good enough reason. Could be a move to cashless? Same problem in the UK so its not just the USA.

Strippers control that market, they only trade in paper money and CCs, so I can see why coins are going away. No real value.

You can drill holes in them to make high quality washers, its cheaper and you get better metal.
