He raised a valid point when sparring with Dr. Flawchi the other day. Why are masks still mandated for people who have had the vaccine? If it is so effective in preventing COVID-19 then people should be protected and not need the mask. If there is no faith in the vaccines efficacy then why are people being forced to get it? Why is the federal government on their 2 billion dollar campaign to push the vaccine onto the American people. Is Fauci going to fear-monger the American people indefinitely with the fear of a new variant? There is research showing the vaccine supposedly protects against the variants as well.

The fact remains that there are are a slough of contraindications and the vaccine should not be pushed so carelessly. With a lack of longitudinal studies on the vaccines, this is a valid public health concern, unlike COVID-19 which at this point has become a political topic and no longer a public health issue. If Flawchi is a man of "science" then it is incumbent on him to provide the science and research on what he is preaching. He continues to provide nothing but entertainment in the form of flip-floppery.

No, he didn't. Again, you can have had the virus or the vaccine and will not get sick from Covid. However, you can pass it along to others. Once again, you don't wear a mask to protect yourself, you wear it to protect others.

From the research I have reviewed, I have found nothing that has suggested people who have had covid-19 or even had the vaccine can be a vector for spreading the disease for others. There is a lifespan for many viruses that provides a shortened immunity once one recovers, similar with types of rhinoviruses/colds. We don't know yet if covid-19 is something that can be caught again after a certain amount of time or if the immunity is longer-term. I would be open to seeing any research that suggests otherwise, however to my knowledge there isn't any.

Covid-19 has been around for almost a year and a half and there are 0 known cases of having covid-19 more than once or any evidence that people who have had the virus can spread it. Policy should be science informed, and there is no science, yet.

I am willing to listen to Fauci when he provides research to support the recommendations he is making. There are many things that are said, and little if any research that is provided. In the meantime, I do not mind wearing a mask or social distancing, but mandating this as public policy isn't following any science.

There are literally thousands of doctors, medical experts, and public health experts who disagree with the recommendations and policy given by Dr. Fauci.

Dr Fauci is always going to recommend on the conservative side when taking precautions against the virus. When in doubt go into full controls. There is documented evidence of people being re-infected by the virus. The uncertain part is how the variants play out.

I'm always amazed at how people choose to purposely misinterpret what has been said to fit their political narrative.

Yes there are documented cases of re-infection, so far it's not clear about reinfection after the vaccine though. Can people spread it once they've had the vaccine....it's not fully understood yet, but from other diseases it may be possible. The consensus from even Fauci is that it probably isn't.

What has been recommended is to error on the safe side until more data has been gathered and thoroughly reviewed.

If you get your information from sources that have confessed to being nothing more than "entertainment", and admit they shouldn't be believed, your "facts" may not be all you think they are.

This includes the sources these supposed news outlets use to provide these facts.

There are two easy options here...we don't know if you can get re-infected, or infect others, so...

1. Until they tell me I can for sure get re-infected, or can for sure infect others, I'm going to assume I can't, and not wear a mask.

2. Until they tell me for sure I can't get re-infected, or can't for sure infect others, I'm going to assume I can, and wear a mask.

It's not any big conspiracy, it's just about the difference between a small inconvenience and maybe someone dying.
