G Loomis GL3 14 foot 9/10 Spey Rod, ONLY USED ONE TIME, and Jim Vincent RIO line tip system (new over $120) only used once also, and a new Okuma Integrity 10/11 reel with disc drag. This rod and package is immaculate. Includes sock and rod tube. Try and get into spey fishing for under $700; it's impossible. I tried. There was one previous owner of the rod that NEVER used it, he had his name written on the rod "James Hertzig". I bought it from him, bought the reel and line new, and used it for 4 hours one day on the Sol Duc. It is just not my bag. $450 cash and it's yours. Really, it is like new. Come and see first hand before you hand over the money. Rod reel is black. Email me at jwhale@centurytel.net

Ah,another one bites the dust. I also tried it and gave it up, but my cost wasn't as much as yours was. I just stick with the single hander and have just as much fun as those with the double handers.

I don't care one way or the other on two handers. I very seldom fish big water so I really don't need one. And on the waters that are bigger I just cast as I like as I don't need to reach the far bank in order to fish.
I was not comfortable using it so I QUIT. So there.
Jim

Looks like a great deal to me, unfortunatley I do not have a need for another 9/10 wgt rod.
Give it a go on Ebay or over on the spey clave site Good luck

The idea of buying a spey outfit and then going out to fish with it with out some kind of instruction is not the way to go. Lessons is what is needed. You just didn't pick up a single hander and have a go at it without somebody telling you or giving you some pointers. With a spey rod it is a whole new ball game. One that I couldn't play right with. But I'm happy on the way that I didn't go. :p :p :p :p :p Jim

"The idea of buying a spey outfit and then going out to fish with it with out some kind of instruction is not the way to go. " Thats exactly what I did yes a learning experience but it is not rocket science either to do it on your own with the videos and books now available. Start with roll casts for petes sake. FL
