What a bunch of self severing dickheads. OK fine they reject removing the four lower Snake River Dams to recover ESA listed salmon. So what their plan to recover these fish?

Although Oregon lawmakers support the removal they have their own darkside. Oregon lawmakers of both parties have bellied up to the all you can take timber industry money trough. The number one inhibitor for recovery of north coastal salmon and steelhead is water quality. The department of environmental quality hasn't enforced federal clean water standards in over 10 years. North coastal rivers and streams water temps reach the lethal rage numerous times every summer. Then the rivers pump mud all winter. This is the reason I no longer support the Democratic party of Oregon.

I don't see the dams ever being removed, far too expensive and would take a very long time.
At best, the average state resident is only going to give lip service to saving fish. Implementing a multi billion $ (before cost overruns) project that would take several decades to complete, ain't gonna fly.

That's because you are stupid. The plan is to remove the earthen part of the dams and let the river run around them. BPA's balls are in a money vise, rates have risen 30%, renewables are producing more and cheaper power. 2028 BPA renegotiates their PUD contracts, that is when the real sh1t hits the fan. BPA's future plan is become a energy transmission manager.

What makes you think that plan will be quick and cheap?
Just the plan will take a decade to complete.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be removed, only that if it happens it will be a long way off in the future.

So far there is no money, only a proposal put forth to spend a great deal on various infrastructure needs.
Every politician is looking for a way get as much of that not yet in existence pile of cash to spend as possible.

I think the part they don't like is having the people who didn't need a tax cut paying for part of it.

Settle down Illahee. The Republicans have opposed dam removal before.
