sadly (boy, that's an understatement) I wuz transferred to So Cal in Sept and have been feelin real, real homesick lately (i.e. need to fish). I feel yer pain over the lack of fish (there aren't too many in socal, ha ha). Anyway I used to catch a few outta the salt and haven't seen any mention of steelies in the salt this year; has anyone fished for em in da salt? I'd love to hear about it if you have.

Thanx,
I hope the fishin improves soon -
Roger

I've read somewhere that the Steelhead pass near Whidbey Island in their way to the East sound rivers, and there's a fun catch there.
I've caught 1 steelhead in salt near Harstene Island accidentally while casting from the beach for Coho. He hit a pink buzz bomb, moving fast in shallow water on an incoming tide. Just a little guy, I turned him loose. There's a small stream near here, with a run of stunted steelhead that get to be only 14 to 16 inches.
