Anybody know the skinny? Are things as dead up there as they are down here? Potter--what's the story. Been getting a few out of some of the local rivers but nothing like we're supposed to be experiencing, I was hoping things were a little different up North. Thanks for any info.

Fished the Salmon a bit on Saturday. Heard rumor of one Fish, saw one hooked and lost. There were only 20 or so fisherman so maybe 1 fish to 10 men. Not bad for this season. Heard the Indians did quite well on Friday...

Everything I looked at all weekend was low and gin clear, except the Queets and the Hoh.

The Hoh is pretty low and clear too. And to boot fish are few and far between. I was on the Hoh last week and the only thing I saw was fisherman no fish. Havent heard any good reports here since just before Christmas.

The hatchery run on the Bogie and Clawah looks to be on its last stretch. I talked to some Indians yesterday and they said there getting mostly wild fish now and just a few brats. One guy I talked to had 48 fish and 8 where hatchery.

For anybody who was going to make the trip out to the Peninsula, its not worth the drive, there are just not many fish. If I were you I would wait till we get a lot of rain.

I myself quit fishing for the brats before Christmas, it just wasnt productive. I have been getting a few wild fish but Ive had to work real hard. I have talked to knowone who has been consistantly catching fish.

Salmon river is kinda slow, cook is slowing down. Hatchery run is kinda depressed, than goodness there are some big hatchery fish. Check out today's catch at http://www.geocities.com/lettyrene/

Rich G, are you using adipose clipped or stubbed dorsal to figure out hatchery fish? The reason I ask is that the Queets is running a stubbed dorsal percentage in the 80's and the Quinault in the 90's. Your sample of the one fisherman is 17% hatchery. This seems way too low for Jan.2.

I was talking about the Quileute. THere is a lower percentage of non cliped hatchery fish here because the state is running the hatchery. Today I heard we got a small shot of hatchery fish yesterday.
