I've been fishing low water plugs and I just can't get the Sorm, Wee-Warts tuned. Can anyone help?

I have one out in front of me now. It appears to be a pretty tight area that you have to work in. You might be able to bend the little eye in the plug with needle nose pliers. I use a snap clip to lengthen the whole eye area, and it makes that double loop attached to the plug lay straight. I guess i'm lucky in that my plugs appears to be good swimmers right out of the package.

I pull a lot of plugs and take great pride in my ability to tune a plug... I won't fish the wee wart because I can't get it to run straight on a consistant basis...certain water is worse than other...and obvisouly certain plugs are better, but overall they are tough... they seem to pop out of the watter at times?? I fish a lot of wiggle warts, Tadpolies, k12 and hotshots.. they seem to tune much easier. So I would say, stay away from the wee warts. Just my .02 TH www.thcustomrods.com

I would second what TH said about the Wee's. They are very unpredictable and difficult to tune. Great looking lure but better left in your tackle box. jed

I've also been frustrated to the point I gouge scratch marks on the sides and throw them in the river. A friend of fp from this board told me that you can use a match to heat up the bill and then bend it??? He took all of his plugs to a swimming pool and tuned them there so as not to waste fishing time.

Thanks for the help guys. I've got one more question on this subject. For those of you who can get these plugs to tune and run properly what size of line are you running?

I run 20 lb test fireline nail knotted to 10' of 12 lb test green maxima leader. The fireline has 8 lb diameter for geetting deeper with less line drag and very little stretch for a great solid hook up.
