I am thinking about purchising one of these reels. I am wondering if anyone has used one before and weather they like it. I want to be able to cast #2 and #3 blue fox spinners with it without getting back lashes. What are some other good reels that can do this?

Not that I have tried the garcia reels, but for #2 and 3 spinners, I would stick to spinning gear.

While it is possible to cast these light spinners with casting gear, spinner is better suited, I think. If you decide to toss such light tackle with casting, I would drop down in stiffness and line diameter. 8# is going to be more appropriate.

The backlash in this case is caused by the lure slowing down abruptly in the cast, probably due to excessive friction dragging the line through the guides. In the 20 or so years I have been using casting equipment, spinning is far better for lighter gear.

My partner bought the 5600AB model at the same time I bought my Ultracast 5600. I still have the Ultracast and am loving it. He sold the 5600AB and got a ultracast, he's a lot happier now. Once you learn what your thumb is for, the AB feature isnt worth the other tradeoffs, and the reel will never cast as far as as another similarly sized reel.
for what it's worth, we use Gamakatsu line, the 14# has the same diameter as normal 12#. You get more line on your spool, and I think it casts better.
