I am a fly fisherman but have a 21 foot inboard jet sled. I am interested in hearing from anyone about rivers they feel comfortable on with such a boat other than the Sky,Snoqual, Skagit, Cowlitz. Any on the peninsula? for example.

Sorry but only in a full flood would you be able to operate a 21' jet boat on any of the Penninsula rivers. Actually there aren't many places you can operate a small one, A few of the fellows operate on the reservation rivers down near tide water but I don't think I'eve ever seen anything over 15' and 40hp

Not only do you have the logistical problems associated with a sled that big ... you can see much of the animosity towards powered craft in the "Boat ban .." post near the top portion of the board. Without any hostility or threat intended, I'll put it this way, some people show their displeasure for sleds on the west end streams in a manner a little stronger than posting their feelings on a BB Good luck!

You would have to be a brave or very naive person to have the guts to even leave your vehicle and trailer parked at the ramp......even if you could put your sled in. It wouldn't matter what size it was, I am sure the trailer would be just a tad smaller than it originally was upon your return, and like Bob stated....this is also meant with no animosity intended....look at my signature! I use these rivers with my partners drift boat and agree that this is the only way to go, along with hoofin it.

Nice guys over there on the O.P.!..... Just thought I would ask. What rivers are jet sled friendly to a novice pilot?

3 more good rivers to add to your list would be the Lewis, the Clack and the Willamette, along with the obvious big one between the states.

Your best rivers will be the Lewis, Cowlitz, & Clack. in Oregon. You may have some trouble in the Lewis at summer flows. Good luck!
