I read the article in the link. It calls out $4.4M in payments; were did the 239M come from? Talks about more than 200 people filing a suit that has yet to go go to court.

Heard the amount for 2024 on the news radio but,, it has not hit the online newsfeed yet... Several Law Firms are seeking out victims currently... I am not sure of the events that have opened this can of worms and made it explode but I will update when I find out or get a hold of the information..

Washington State has had a problem with covering up child sex abuse within their own juvenile system for a long time,, it seems that this state is a sanctuary for Pedophiles and the state government does everything they can including paying bribes to protect their identities and professional careers,,, pretty much whatever they can do to keep it a secret and keep the perps out of jail...

There are a chitload of pedophiles in Washington State and most of them are well off/connected...

I think the the MSM had a series of articles last summer/fall about Lewis County hitting a stone wall trying to deal with problems at Greenhill. If memory serves the Governor denied there was a problem and then had to backtrack.

The whole judicial system has issues, especially with C&R for felons. That problem seems to be inciting all levels of government.

Wow. Just wow. Rich's thread title isn't as interesting or disturbing as the actual news story. Sounds pretty bad. If they fired all the child abusers, one has to wonder if there would be enough people left to staff the facilities.

I remember when I was a kid, Green Hill was a place for juvenile delinquents. Looks like juveniles have stepped up their game to include assault, rape, and murder. Don't these kids have parents?

It is difficult to see where the state ends and where the cabal of pedophiles begins.

I read an ongoing posting about arrests of child sexual predators. The sick thing is that there are so many of them. As for where the cabal of pedophiles begins is that over 90%, maybe over 95%, of those arrested were Republican and or conservative officials in religious organizations, law enforcement (maybe that includes those corrections officials), and teachers. All the while Republicans were hyperventalating about drag queens being the threat to children, only one of hundreds arrested was actually a drag queen. The take home message is that if we're to protect children, we have to keep them away from Republicans and conservatives. Obviously. The data don't lie.

That doesn’t explain why Democrats are on their continued crusade to enable crime if it’s “all these republicans” who are guilty.

Streamer, ya' got a point there. WA legislative Ds demonstrably don't understand how crime works. Or the law either, in some cases. Please don't think I'm a Spiro Agnew lawnorder kinda' guy, and I don't care of kids walk on my lawn. But I'm a bit of a hard azz on crime in general. My answer to child predation is rather simple: kill 'em. I might be OK with judges ending some prison sentences early; doesn't seem all that different from parole and probation.

Gang members: kill 'em.

Gun offenders: depends what the offense is; not sure I understand this one.

Adults who cook meth around children: kill 'em.
