I am looking for a wader length fishing jacket for a Alaska trip this Fall. Looking for feedback on different jackets. So far I have been looking at the Patagonia SST (Can get new for $200), Cabela's Dry Plus ($99), Hodgman ($90). Any feedback for jackets that have worked for you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! jlcramer@cwnet.com

I looked at the sst jacket also. Nice jacket, however I went with the Cabela's Dry Plus and it's just that" Dry". I have had mine for at least 6 years and it is still going strong. You cannot go wrong with Cabela's. Good luck. Dan

I agree with dan. My Cabelas jacket has been to Yakutat 4 times (I think thats where your going) and I've never gotten wet. Believe me when I tell you, that place knows rain! I have the Gore-tex version for fly fishing which runs about $150.

Good luck,

Steve

Check out the Altima Jacket from "solitude", the thing is awesome(under $200). Why support a catalog company when you can buy locally? The small shops in the NW are going by the wayside, keep this in mind when you purchase from mail order companies. You can kiss the knowledge and convenience of locally owned stores goodbye.

I looked over alot of rain jacket's,finely went for the Orvis "Tailwaters no sweat jacket". I'm a big guy 6'1" 265 and work up a sweat bank fishing/brushbusting. Got it XXL to be able to layer under it, if your just standing around it stops the wind but is'nt all that warm. Has a great hood & water-proof cuffs. It will rock ya about $ 195.00 + tax got mine in bellvue, love it so far, If it can be broke,I'm the man!
