I used to fish the Satsop pretty heavily. I haven't floated it in about a year, but I heard rumours that they closed down a make shift launch. The one I'm talking about is below Schafer, right below the S turn (my Dad and I always called the S turn the superhole). There was a makeshift gravel launch there we'd drop our driftboats and cats in. Kinda reminds me of crossover drop on the Nooch. Well, I've heard that it's actually a private property and the owners were restricting people from launching there. Is there any truth to that rumour? Just curious if I'll have to modify my drift or run up to Schafer to launch. Thanks

Yep, that launch at the s turns is now closed. It is private property and the people got tired of the trash being left there. I tried to get them to open it up under an access fee type deal and they where thinking about that.

If you're thinking about the launch at Decker Creek, you are correct sir. The road was ditched last year because some people can't seem to go outdoors without leaving a trail of garbage in thier wake. It never ceases to amaze and disgust me the amount of trash I seem to always find whenever I visit the places we (fishers) congregate.
Bring a bag and pack it out or more of these places will be closed!!!

Great, that really sucks. My Dad and I always cleaned up after ourselves. Well Os, sounds like we'll be putting in at Schafer. I don't want to put in at Cook. Well, that's all I needed to know. Thanks.

Hey guys they had a launch open about a mile and half down from the east fork on the gravel bar to the left, it costs a couple a bucks,it keeps the float semi short, and its a easier take out then the 1 about a mile farther down, or all the way the way down
