Today I went for a boat ride out to the mouth of the Lewis. There I sat for a few hours fishing while watching ships and assorted smaller craft going to and fro.
After returning home unincumbered by a day's catch I went to the grocery store for dinner. While scouting over the magazine rack I noticed 3 northwest fishing magazines all with pictures of steelhead and touting the tactics necessary to catch these fish.
I have an either or question to ask all of you. Were these articles written in the last century, or is this another government conspiracy to get us to buy marine fuel, and related products?

Well, first of all to your question regarding the pictures you saw on the covers of the mags, I will bet you they are from last year or so. I have had pictures in STS and F&H that are from one to two years ago. But yes there are fish to catch out there, If you are fishing for steelhead fish close to the shoreline with spin-n-glo or spinners that should produce. If your after sturgeon the St. Helens area is good but their netting the river now. <*))>>{
