Been thinking about planning a trip up to the Vedder in the end of February or early March. I know the water is low up there too but has anyone been up there lately?

Bobber Down fished the might Vedder over the weekend with two rookie fishermen who putt alot better than they cast a baitcaster!

Saturday was slow, Sunday, it was like Blue Cr. underneath the Vedder Crossing Bridge. Geez, I go up there to get away from combat fishing and there it was in it's finest form. Guys were smoking so much pot underneath the bridge, I about fell in the water stoned from the second-hand smoke. Fish were being hooked, but at least half were snagged. Kind of sad to see this happen on this beautiful river.

This river is scary low, even lower than it is in August, I suggest you wait until we get a good shot of rain. Remember, one hatchery fish limit, and after you keep your fish, you must stop fishing and leave the river for the day! And remember it's not yarn it's wool aye.

Keep your hooks sharp!

The Vedder's a joke this year. The pressure the river recieves is stupid, guys are snagging fish at the bridge all day long. I live close to the river, about 20 min from the bottom end. The fishing is great, but the quality of the fishing sucks. Crowding, garbage, beaks everywhere.Weekends aren't even an option for me, to many idiots. If you go though, avoid the crowds.....theres fish througout the system. Most guys bunch up in 3-4 spots. All wild fish are C&R and theres lots of them this year. Good Luck.

Fished the river on Tuesday and C/R'd a ten pound nate and lost another fish. Where I was fishing I would say there was about a fish for every other rod. Not sure about the lower river because I stay away from it. Of the fish I saw hooked (about 12 or so) only two were hatchery fish. The nates are very bright, and the river was low but it sprinkled all day and made the river a little chalky. Have fun and use care when releaseing as I saw some sketchy release techniques, such as drag the fish on the beach while your friend watches you and try to put it back. anyway ya'll know what I mean!
