I heard that peta's antifishing adds will be out soon. A dog with a hook and line in his mouth with the caption "would you do this to your dog?"

How about an add showing a vegan chef chopping a head of lettuce with a cleaver?

"Would you do this to your kitty cat?"

The hypocrisy of groups like that really irks me.

I have a friend who is a "vegetarian", has a ton of animals, dogs, birds. Would never even look at a chicken without wanting to cuddle it like a puppy.

She eats fish. Why? They're not cuddly, and don't have feelings that are hurt by rough treatment like puppies and kitties, and, seemingly, chickens.

OK...makes perfect sense to me...

Todd.

Check out www.nofishing.net It is prett scary.

I heard about this page a while back when I was having a discussion with a vegan freind of mine. She just could not get past how cruel I was because I was a sportfisher. She claimed that even if I did practice C&R, they all died. I just got pissed and asked her where she got her evidence. Her reply was nofishing.net.

I went to the PETA web site, GIVE ME A BREAK, these people have too much time on their hands. But you know there's A burnt out hippie leftover from the 60's and 70's to protest just about anything, Including myself who would protest comercial retail sales of wild steelhead and salmon any day.

I also went to the peta web site and looked at the shocking pictures they have on display. Pictures of lures stuck in a birds foot or hooked in the beak is not something we intend to have happen. I bet if these people think about it hard enough they would have us park all of our cars because on occasion an animal is struck and killed. Hell why don't we make that a sport, so they could tell the world how we should stop doing it as well. Personally I will never stop fishing. It was something I was taught from my parents, and something I love to do

I hate these people with a passion. These DOGOODERS ain't got nothing to do but to butt into other people's business. I know that one day they are going to start **** with the fisherman. Last year I had an encounter with one of these humanics. He was actually salmon fishing at Barrier. How I found out about this guy... he was fishing WITHOUT a fish hook. Just a leader with an egg sack. This is how F'up about their mentality. The ******* fished next to me and cast like ****. He crossed and tangle me almost every other cast. He alway insisted to do the untangle, but one time I had to do it myself and noticed the didn't have a hook. So I asked him about the hookless method of catching fish. Then he went on a gospil trip about doing his duties to not hurting the fish. So I asked him about the salmon eggs which he uses for bait. The issue ends right there. Check this out, the son of a b***h claim to have landed a few nice ones the other day.

I looked at their site and found that they do not have a guestbook. Woulda been fun to put a nice polite 3 megabyte message on it. I guess they're too chicken to put one up. It might actually get some truth posted on it.
Sorry if I offended one of you PETA's out there monitoring this board that condones the "cruel treatment of fish". Maybe instead of calling you "chickens", I should have called you something more vegetable-like.
If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat!

No matter what you do for recreation, there is going to be someone who whines and *****es about it. I just hope they do it around me. I have a few things to tell them.

The same ignorant folks who managed to ban hound hunting and mole traps will they ban fishing? Don't be to sure they won't....You know they are going to try! Although they don't have the Kahunas to have a B.B. they do have an E-mail address info@petaonline.org maybe a few hundred or million E-mails to them thanking them for the moles in your front yard and the cougars in your back yard will keep them busy for awhile but it will happen eventually. This is why Gentlemen us sportsmen now more than ever need to stick together have one voice and fight for our heritage ie. Hunting and fishing. Lets make it happen!!! any Ideas??

C&R, if done correctly, doesn't harm fish. Every other method of fishing has me siding with PETA. Let's let all the wild ones go, handle them correctly, trash the throat-hooking gear and get those nets out of the water.

Flyfisher, that is the kind of attitude that will help PETA outlaw ALL fishing. Until all sportsman, no matter what type of hunting or fishing they do learn to stick together and help each other out we have no chance.

Well its a good drill knowing what these folks think, but were talking extremes here! These guys say you should not even own dogs and cats they are officialy against pet ownership per say and if you want to worry about them go for it. I have too many things on my plate to have any time to worry about a bunch of whackos that no real people or politicians actually listen too. The organization is, since the death of Clevland Amorey, in a melt down for leadership and will hopefully self destruct. Thank you for there web site.

flyfisher1066 Siding with peta in any way shape or form is asking for trouble, you give an inch and they take a mile. Although I do agree with ban all nets (I for one donated money to the last campaign did you?) I do in fact release wild fish (where it is illegal or unethical to keep them) If there ever comes a point in time where the tree huggers make it so you have to release all fish I will take up golf or gold mining or girl watching (already do!!) or whatever. If I cannot keep a fish for the table once in a while then I will quit fishing.

It is a far reaching subject and we need to do everything we can to protect our sport and our image.

Todays "Dilbert" comic found the the Daily Olympian:

Man:"I'm a nature lover. When I fish, I only do Catch and Release."
Woman:"In other words, you torture fish for fun."
Man:"I wonder why everything I do sounds bad when it's put in other words."
