I just got back from fishing around Forks for the past 2 days. We bank fished the Sol Duc, Calawah, and the Hoh. We got skunked, not even a hit. I talked to alot of the people going by in drift boats, on the Hoh, and there was only a few that had done any good. Awoke this morning to almost 6in of snow. Driving back up 101 it was snowing like mad. When this stuff melts off it's gonna give them rivers what they need, water. We only saw a few rigs parked by the Sol Duc, most people were fishing the Hoh. I wished we would have gone up next Monday. But I still had a great time, learned some good places to fish, saw alot of eagles and a few elk. Most importantly I got the steelhead bug, I'm hooked now. So all you elitest Steelheading scum, you know who you are, you can add one more to your numbers, me.

saw your remark about the tackle nazi and your (SIERRA IS FLAKY) the man in the shop on wed. was standing in for the owner who was at an all day class learning to operate the new computer system for the on-line state license that is coming-- perhaps the the stand-in does not have the patient attitude that the owner has--most every morning i see people come in and ask bob for a fishing report--hand drawn maps--etc.- ask to use the facilities-- and then just walk out-- in case you miss the point and i am sure you did-- information is worth money-- spend one of your hard earned dollars at bobs and you will be more fishin' info ahead that you will ever be dollars ahead by going to thrifty mart-- somehow i just dont think you will get the point -- oh! u might wanna' pray to the god -o- ur choice that the stand in or bob for that matter doesn't take umbrage to the nazi remark---- good luck fishing---- i am easy to find i'll be at bobs most ever morning-----

I am glad that wasn't the owner Bob, as I was told by some friends to go there for some tips. After spending like $20 on stuff I didn't need, the only advice I recieved was to "hire a guide". On my next trip out there I will stop in and give Bob a chance, as I would rather spend some money at a small outfit than make a rich person richer, ie;Thriftway. As for praying to the god-o-mychoice, I am praying to the god of Steelheading. I spent 4 hours fishing the Green with no success this afternoon and I just want to see what these things feel like. Thanks for the heads up and don't take my ranting too seriously.

Another post in regard to Bob: a heckuva good egg I say. You take care of him, he'll take care of you ... I can say nothing but good things with all the help he gave me when I first started tromping 'round these parts just after he bought the shop. Just don't go in and ask him what reel you should buy from Cabela's! I think that applies to a lot of smaller shop owners ... take care of them!

Amen' bob's a great guy in my book. Always give's a honest report on the river's & has turned me to some good guides when i'm not rowing myself. Try to buy $20.00 in his shop when I stop by. May not be much, buts it's what I can do. Here's to you bobbo!

Just returned from a 2 day "Peek and poke" thing in Port Townsend(wife wanted to do). On the way home went by way of Forks, to check rivers but really wanted to stop and see/meet the owner of the sporting goods store in Forks.
Found the owner to be very nice, chatty, outgoing, and full of information. Would definitely stop and do business if in that area.

All the rivers in that area were "low and clear", do whatever you want with that information!!!!!!

Shane, ditto from me. I hit the Sol Duc in some favorite spots, from the bank, for two days and hit the Queets for another day. Not even a touch. I heard the Doc took a hit from the nets. As for the Queets, I don't know.
