I was just wondering if any of you guys know of any decent reports from boat/bank anglers for Spring Chinook? The water is clear enough and there should be some fish arriving soon! I have heard of some being caught in the Willamette.....just wondering about the Main Columbia. Any news would be greatly appreciated...thanks.

Been some decent early reports over on the ifish board but the commercials were in Sunday and Monday and are back in today and tomorrow. Haven't seen what the net schedule is beyond that. The reports have been for around Longview and St. Helens.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff

Myself and a dozen other boaters trolled the Oregon side of the Columbia from Warrior Rock to the mouth of the Multnomah Channel with no results as of noon. Several other boats were around the Lewis, but I don't think they had any luck either before noon.
Fish were caught in those 2 spots on the previous 2 days, but the effects of netting just caught up on us yesterday.

THE NETS ARE KILLING US !!!!!! I have managed to get two springers both were after the nets have been out for a full day. I almost think they are saying we are going to have a big return so the nets can go in Then after the nets get them they will close things down because not as many as they thought came back. As to the spots two of the local tribs have given them to me. Close to home. You know where I live look at a map. I do not want everyone to get upset because I named a river. Trolling real real slow is the way I got mine . Good Luck

My best fishing buddy is a chef at Anthony's Homeport Restaurant and he said last night that today, Anthony's, was getting it's first shipment of fresh Columbia River Spring Chinook for their restaurants. The news made us both want to puke!

Anyways, any of the plunkers having luck on the Columbia in the Woodland area?

My grandfather (may he rest in peace) plunked below the Lewis on the Columbia his whole life. I'm remember catching springers in the 70's with him when I was just a kid. He was known as "Two-pole Tony", because for years he always plunked with two rods. When the regs changed in the late 70's only allowing one rod he kept on fishing two. The game wardens just gave up on trying to tell him to stop, thus he earned the name Two-Pole Tony. I use to love his old jeep, decorated interior that consisted of at least a 1,000 rigged spin-n-glows.

Just some memmories.

Keep your hooks sharp!
