I have'nt built a rod on a rainshadow blank yet, but know of a lot of people who have. From what I hear you can't beat them for the price and quality. I was thinking of building a fly rod using one of there blanks.

Good blanks...I am a big Loomis guy and build hundreds of Loomis rods each year. I can honestly say that they are for real and you will be hearing a lot about Rainshadow rods in the near future. I am taking a few to the OP in a couple weeks on my trip instead of some Loomis rods. Great price, super customer service, and a great quality blank!!! TH www.thcustomrods.com

Beez: You may be talking about Pacific Bay Int'l, a rod component wholesaler that moved from Cal to Sequim a couple years ago, OR the newer company that split off on its own with their old V.P. Bob Batson, also in Sequim. Probably the same generic blanks that our clubs over here are getting from PacBay. Call Tom Brown, customer service mgr there, at 360-683-2080, or email "info@fishpacbay.com

Howdy Gary, Greg is building a 10 wt. Rainshadow blank for me now. I`ve heard a lot of good things about them and none bad. They are not a product of PacBay. He said you stopped in the other day to look at blanks, but got out the door before he could talk to you. Price is right. Good Fishin` BH

rain shadow is not Pac Bay. This is someone different. Rainshadow blanks are nice and I like the low gloss finish much better. Pac Bay has had problems filling orders recently, so rian shadow may be a good bet. I think that this is a wholesale outfit, so you will need to find yourself a retail outlet.

We have built a few now, and I really like them. They are sold in blank form only and are quite reasonable. They are very comprable to a GL3 almost an IMX. I think they will provide some serious needed compitetion for Loomis in the future. Let me know if you are interested in a quote. These rods also have a great warranty! TH www.thcustomrods.com

Rainshadow rods are excellent, They are made here in the U.S.A by one of the largest rod manufactures and have an excellent warranty. There office is in sequim, but they are NOT pacific Bay. Which is going down the tube because of bad decisions over the last year and a half. There drift and float rod blanks are 43 million modulos graphite which is higher than a GL-3 at a much better price. If you are interested in there blanks check your local dealer or I can get them for you as well. Fell free to e-mail me and I will see if I can help you out. By the way they use the same numbering system as Loomis. superfishh@home.com Thanks Superfly

Superfly, Just wanted to let you and everyone else out there know that contrary to your previous statement, Pacific Bay International is very much alive and well and continuing to grow. In fact, we've just released our new 2001 product catalog with several new products for the upcoming year and are planning to expand our product line even further. We also have a new web page currently under construction. If you or anyone else would like one of our new catalogs, please feel free to contact us at info@fishpacbay.com or 1-800-272-2229.
Thank you, Bryan
