Can anyone recommend a quality jig with a quality hook. I've bent out far too many hooks even using six pound test leader. Right now I'm buying jigs but would like to start making them...any good pre-painted head/hooks available?

Ted's in lynnwood has or had some. Supposed Gammy jigs that seem to work good, only had them in the smaller sizes though they had pink and black. Good luck! C

I buy my jig hooks from a guy back east. I have them made up in #1's and #2's in what he calls a "O'shaughnessy saltwater jig hook". They are super strong, even stronger than the Gamakatsus'. I have caught several fish in the high teens with the same jig without bending the hook. E-mail if you like and I will send you a few samples. The biggest key with fishing jigs as you all know is a strong hook, because most all jigs out there will hook fish.........but you got to land it too! Chuck--My fishing buddy, John, has a production mold and molds and paints jig hooks. He does excellent work. I've helped him a few times and we've used Gammy and Eagle Claw hooks depending on conditions with good success. I think he'd sell you some. E-mail me if you'd like his phone number.

Check out the jigheads from Rainbow Jigs . Right now I'm recovering from catching a mess of steelies up North over three days of fishing.

Most were on jigs from this guy and not one bent the hook. Biggest fish was mid teens. We were fishing with straight 10# test and light rods.
