Geez, i just read the post where they might be closing the springer season early, I have never fished for them in the Columbia but was planning on giving it an attempt.
I have no idea where to go there, what to take. Shoot, is there even any camping down by where a guy would fish.
Any help at all would be appreciated, I would probably not want to go to awfully far down, maybe around Cathlamet and St. Helens if there is any fish to be had there. I`ll probably be taking my 13 year old daughter
(being`s how it`s about the only thing she wants to do with her old man anymore) heh-heh. If you don`t feel comfortable posting please just E-mail me, Thanks
Tony M.

Rainy..Not sure how the fishing is, but there is a marina at Cathlamet. Also there is a park east of Cathlamet along Hwy 4. Not much info but the best I can do.

If you know where the to fish there are some areas loaded with Springers.

For example on a river not to be named, I was talking to a fellow who fished it yesterday. When asked how he did his reply was "There were stupid salmon rolling everyhwere scaring all the steelhead away!!" rolleyes

Tony,
If your bankin' the hot spot is just below Bonneville, catch rate has been one per 4 rods. If you have a boat the action just down river from Cathlamet has been real good, we had some action there Saturday and have had reports from friends of 6 and 8 fish days!!! cool
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh

Thanks a lot guys, that`s a good start,
I`ve also talked to a couple of friends about it and will probably be with one of them that half-way knows how to fish them....
