I've caught fish on all three types of spin-n-glow wings. Usually I just stick with the "old school" white wings. It seems to me that the black wings don't provide much attraction. I like the mylar wings but, wonder if the stiffness of the wings cause a soft bitter to quickly spit my offering?
What do you guys think?

I use all of the wing styles too. I think that the black wings gives them a good profile and contrast. When I am buying Spin N Glows I focus more on combos that match conditions I am fishing rather than wing colors.
My favorite Spin N Glow is the red with the black stripes and the black wings. I will put out bait divers for Silvers, Hatchery Steelhead, or Kings in ultra clear to 3 feet of vis. It seems like the side that has the red with black wings is the one that goes down most of the time.

I fish the mylar wings cause I like shiny things . I fish probally 90 % sandshrimp w/mylar winged driftbobbers. I put 3-4 tiny little beads on my leader between the knot and my chosen float. I believe this helps in getting a little distance between bait and driftbobber ,and the fish seem to mostly get the shrimp not the bobber in their mouths. Really I don't know what the h*ll I am talking about but it seems to work for me .

I like black wings for poor visibility and mylar wings for clearer water. Remember flash has no benefit in dirty water as light penetration and refraction is low in poor vis conditions. I like the mylar wings in clear water conditions. They seem to draw fish from a distance (ie lure).

I don't care much for the mylar wings, but like the black wings quite a bit in off colored water. For salmon I use the white wings but not for stealhead-just don't like em for some reason.

I'd have to go with the mylar wings because of the flash though I use the white winged pink pearl often, gotta go with the tried and true. Never had a bite on the black winged ones but I still try them sometimes.

Fished The Quinalt on 27 March with a Big ol Pink one(Spin-n-Glo I mean :p) with white wings. Hooked 8 landed 5. I think I will stick with that one for a while. GutZ

The white wings seem to work the best for me. THe sparkly(mylar?) wings work good with sand shrimp for early summer runs. Havent fished the black wings for some reason, i guess i should give them a try in clear, or muddy water, but i'll take white any day in ideal conditions.

Thanks guys for the intersting feedback. Sounds like the "old school" white wings have some definate followers. I'm going to try the black wings this weekend for the springers, I'll let you know how it goes.
