Planning on doing a float from BC to Mission Bar. I know it's closed for springers but I am hoping to find a late steelie or early summer run and no crowds. I am taking a new special person laugh laugh wink and thought this would be a good river to learn on and maybe catch a fish. so what is going on. any fish being caught?

my e-mail is dcrzfitter@aol.com

Sorry Dude, but the Cowlitz is absolutely dead right now. Ther'es a chance that you might catch a late winter run or maybe a springer, but if you hold off until the first week of may your chances will be much better. Good Luck!

Fitter,

How was water clarity? I know it's low but I also heard visibility wasn't that good because the sediments behind the dam are getting stirred up because the river is cutting a new channel through the muck due to no lake water.

Is tis true?

Fitter--

You should have done the Barrier Dam to BC float. I did it two weeks ago and killed them. Orange and white corkies, with shrimp tail. Hooked 4 landed 3. Great day. The clarity wasn't bad for this time of year, but should be better the first week of May.
