I just read a post that was discouraging. So, for those this pertains to, please take a little constructive criticism within proper perspective. ...

A member named Curt (I don't know him) posted "This weekend" earlier on Friday, in which he nicely asked for a "generalized report" for how the NF Lewis is for fishing - to see if it was worth a long drive from his place to come fish. The Puget Sound rivers up his way are closed early this season. I was out of town yesterday and missed his Q, or I would have tried to help him out. Nobody did. ...

The membership registry has grown from 1,971 members to 2,080 members in the last couple weeks or so. Not one of over 2 thousand members here cared enough to share a little info about a well known non-zipper river with this fellow member! And it is a bit typical of what I have often seen here. The site hits are WAY HIGH, so you are here reading. ...

What is it most members would like for a site here? There is a small minority and myself providing fishing reports, fishing tech, answering questions, and having fun with camraderie and funny posts. The majority appear to be silent benefactors. I think it would be a more informative and fun site if more of you got involved. It doesn't need to be a lot. But at least periodically share some fishing reports, or fishing tech ideas, or interesting questions, and/or just plain fun interaction or funny posts. You get to know people better and it becomes more of a virtual community of hard core fun fishers. This is what occured over the last year at my former site and I think you'll like it that way. smile ...

What else might you like to have here? Posted catch stats? A picture post up section? Multiple involved moderators to stir it up? Daily and monthly contests with prizes to sustain your interactive interest? Or what? I'm all ears for member's ideas to improve the interaction of this site - which is the lifeblood of a good fishing discussion board. ... I hereby open season on this moderator - bring on the feedback. And 'Yall and SAUKit, no, we can't have videos of mud wrasslin. wink

Thanks much guys!

There are a lot of members of this sight who visit every day looking for reports or that secret color but rarely make posts.

Actually compared to how many registered users there are very few of us are active. You see the same people day in and day out. Where's everybody else?

Sombody gets a bad expierience here and that could be one less WSC member. Keep that in mind. The more we expand the better it is to our cause.

I myself don't fish the Lewis much so I don't have any info..As for a report on how a river is fishing I don't see the problem in helping a guy out a bit..At over 2000 members it seems maybe 100 are making post the rest seem to be here just to look around and see what kind of info they can gather.I have gathered info from the BB but have also tried to give info.I think that is what happens is people don't see someone helping out but always asking questions they seem to shy away,I am speaking in general not just the post your mentioned above. As far as making changes here I think all is going pretty well.Maybe if things keep going well more people will join in.. laugh ..TM

I don't know jack shi*t about the Lewis or I would have helped him. But there is probably plenty of people who do. I will pitch in when I can! Thanks RT and Bob for a good board!

Have to agree with RT on this one. Seems like there are more tips on good and bad places to take a dump (refering to an earlier post) Then there are tips on fishing.

RT think over the last few months there has been a change for the better in the board. It seems like there are less negative posts and more fun and fishin posts in general. The mood has changed and it seems like there are more posts in a day then before. Don't have any real ideas, with that said on how to get more interaction exept to keep the good post coming and hopefully the rest will start interacting more and more......

Tight lines

RT-- Finally found you again!! I didn't know which board you were on. Please continue doing just what you always have, and I will promise at least one faithful reader. Thank you for sharing your knowlage and humor, and for having the courage to adress the less than politicly correct problems our "shared" resource has. RE Lewis River-- doubt I could even find it.

For what it's worth RT...I've noticed that
many come on too late in the week to get an answer for a question if they need it for the weekend.
Curt asked about the Lewis on Friday...people may already be gone. If possible, ask questions for weekend plans a little earlier in the week.

Kevin is right about the change in the mood /flavor of this board for the better.
I for one apreciate R.T.s' insight and efforts to prod all of us to be a little more helpful. Of course that is easy for me to say down here in Nevada. I can't even tell you which casino's to play at but I would gladly share some info on some of the excellent flyfishing available for large rainbows here in the Silver State but not in open forum. When in the past i have asked about some of the larger rivers i have gotten a good response but the best responses were the ones that came in via e-mail. Maybe that was the case here and responses were made via e-mail.

RT good nudge keep at it. This is a good board and it seems to be getting even better

I'll have to agree RT with above response. You can't ask for a report on friday and expect a decent response. You need to post earlier in the week. But RT, you have to admit, there isn't much going on up here, and usually alot of the "hard core" fisherman have that special zipperlip they don't want to share. (I myself have told friends about a small zipperlip and paid the price. Having tons of HIS friends fishing there. The old snowball scenerio. IT AINT PRETTY)

I post what info I'm willing to share. Usually a popular river I have fished I will, to an extent. If it's a favorite river I'll only give info to people I know on here via email. There are WAY to many readers and not sharers out there (did I word that right?). Too many who are good to take info, but won't give info back. Better yet they'll jump in that honey hole you've spoken about then treat you like an invader.

You know me Steve, I'll give you some reports/lures that worked. I just am really zipperlipped to some. If someone is truly new and needing help I'm all game. I don't mind at all in that scenerio.

I like the new road this site has went down. It's getting better and better and don't see any need for major retrofiting. Maybe you can make someone "Moderator for a day" if they do something good. (Oh oh, that could be bad, just imagine Hey yall running the forum. Lord save us all laugh :p )

Just my .02 I didn't see the post myself, so couldn't respond in kind.
