Hello everybody i have been off this board for awhile but now im back. To start off I now live in Tumwater and was wondering what rivers i could be hitting when i get off work, thats whithin a reasonable distance. I know the satsop, nooch and the other rivers in grays harbor. Just lookin to harass some fish at other rivers.
Also i seen that the chehalis has opened for springers; my grandpa has called me from yakima and wants to bring his boat down, So i was wondering if it would be worth his while to come over for some fishing. So shoot me an email if have any info on it, if you dont want to post about it.
thanks in advance banki cool

Hi Banki. For river suggestions other than the ones you mentioned, you are in a pretty good place to run a ways to some good rivers. Unfortunately, I think most Puget Sounds rivers, especially further up north, have been closed this season until June 1st. So alternatives to those areas west of you would be such as the Kalama and NF Lewis rivers. The Cowlitz is expecting such a poor return of springers that I heard they closed it for taking them this season. Watch for reports on those well known places and others. Good luck. - RT

You have lots of rivers alright. Just not many open.

I'd have to say the Chehalis is a no go for now. Lots of shakers/smolts. Nothing of quality. Weren't alot of boats out today. None of the boats I spoke with caught anything. Lots of bites, no real takers. So tell Grandpa to give it a couple weeks.

The Satsop and nooch are closed so I would say either the Kalama or Chehalis..My first choice would be the Kalama right now...TM
