Hey folks, I'd like to give the Quillayute one last try this weekend because I still haven't beached a steelhead over there this season! Question: are the nets back in the water yet and if not, will they stay out long enough to let me have some fishing? Thanks for any info.

Floated the Quileute Sunday, from Leyendecker to Dickey R. Found a few trout, saw some springers, lots of eagles, and 1 seal about a mile up from the salt. No nets, though, but they could have been lower. Thousands of smolt, could make fly fishing difficult, dont even think about bait.

They did a cerimonial fishery yesterday for a funeral in the late evening and the regular netting started today. they started drift netting at about 4:00 yesterday afternoon at the power line hole on the Quileute. I know this because I saw em when we were pulling out at linedecker.
Odly they had some very large steelies in the fish box when I checked and a few nice springers.

The nets are back in ... just in time to grab hold of all those steelies headed back out over the next few weeks. Mmmm, going to be some good cat food available! Frankly, I'm not sure how many days a week (probably 3 I would guess) they're going on this fishery, I'll try to find out more an post it here

How far would a hay bale or two tossed from the bridge above Lyndecker make it down?
